Disney-Lite

There's only one place where a day that started like this...

And that place is the happiest place on Earth...Disneyland!  After our third attempt at making it to Disneyland, the weather and timing finally matched up.  Cole did not start the day on the right foot...his growing need for independence does not match up with our desire to get where we need to in timely manner. On days where we can lolly-gag and stop and smell all the roses, this is fine. In a crowded theme park, not so much.  Eventually, he figured out that by listening to us, he is allowed the freedom to "galk" on his own and even participate in many of the rides at Disney.

Disneyland Hong Kong is the smallest Disney theme park in the world. The whole park can be seen in about half a day.  This didn't stop the girls from having the time of their lives! They haven't been to Disney World in Florida, so they have nothing to compare it to.  I lived in Disney World for 3 months when I was in college and refrained from making any out loud comparisons to the massive parks there.  The park was in true Disney form...it may be small, but it is well done.

Sydney rode her first official roller coaster....space mountain with Noelle. She may have screamed the whole way, but she absolutely loved it! That's all she could talk about the rest of the day. Cole loved seeing Buzz and playing "Astroblasters", and Skyler's favorite was "It's a Small World." She loves dolls, fashion, and music, so it was a perfect ride for her.  Todd looked like he was having as much or more fun than the kids.

I'm glad that Disney lived up to the girls' expectations and that Noelle was here to experience this "first" with our kids. We will be sad to see her go home next week but we're excited for all of the "firsts" she'll be experiencing in the next few months.
The girls are ready to take on the day!

Cole could have played in this car for hours. His first "meltdown" occurred when we took him out of it too soon.

All the rides had signs of sobriety posted. I wonder how much of a problem this is at Disney? Definitely don't drink and ride the teacups...

Cole's official  first ride...Dumbo.

It's almost cruel that they have these bubble machines all over the park at toddler level...Cole was attracted to each and every one.

Everyone stopped to make a wish in Snow White's wishing well.

Thinking of you, Dad!

To Infinity...and Beyond!

Cole wanted to climb in there and play with Buzz.

I think Todd had the most fun playing Astroblasters.

Cole did his best to stop the Evil Emperor Zurg.

Todd channeling his inner "Michael Westen"

Cole wanted his own...not a chance.

Ahhhh....summer!

Outside Tarzan's treehouse.

The view from the treehouse.

Dried squid sold right next to the popsicles..."You're not in America anymore"

We loved the Jungle Cruise and all of the realistic animals.

The girls took a quick rest at Pixie Hollow.

The characters weren't out for very long so it was difficult getting a good picture of them.

Cole high-fived, knuckled, and hugged Chip and Dale...this would have sent his sisters screaming when they were two.

This picture is for Grandpa Harley - he calls Cole, Simba. So, this is Simba with Simba.

Love all the excitement in the kids faces in the pictures!
